Reconciliation

What is Reconciliation?

Reconciliation is the path to grace through examining your conscience, confessing your sins, receiving forgiveness, and completing the penance given by the priest.

Why do we need the Sacrament of Reconciliation?

“Sin is before all else an offense against God, a rupture of communion with him. At the same time it damages communion with the Church. For this reason conversion entails both God’s forgiveness and reconciliation with the Church, which are expressed and accomplished liturgically by the Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation.”1

First Reconciliation

The Sacrament of First Reconciliation is usually celebrated in the 2nd grade. At HC we offer a free standing program. Children must attend a minimum of one year of Faith Formation or Catholic School in order to be accepted into Sacramental Preparation. Acceptance is based on readiness and Mass participation.

Important: If you have a child in 3rd thru 12th grade that needs First Reconciliation, your family has to attend the Family Special Sacraments program. Click here to find out more about our program.

Confessions Schedule

The Friars of HC hear confessions on Saturdays at 10:00AM or during the week by appointment.
