Each year we welcome the names of your dear ones who have died and we remember them in our prayers and during a Novena of Masses offered for the Dead. We invite you to use the envelope for All Souls to enroll your deceased in this Novena, as well as for daily remembrance in our prayers. The time of All Souls Day and the month of November are essentially days for trust in the mercy and love of God, a remembrance of our dear ones gone ahead of us, and a sign of our own eternal destiny. As the Canon of the Mass puts it:
“To our departed brothers and sisters, and all who were pleasing to you at their passing from this life give kind admittance to your kingdom. There we hope to enjoy forever the fullness of your glory, when you will wipe away every tear from our eyes. For seeing you, our God, as you are, we shall be like you for all the ages and praise you without end.”
To honor them in a special way, we’ll place The Book of the Dead in the Gathering Area on November 1st and invite you to write in their names. At the Bereavement Mass on November 13th at 7pm, they will all be remembered.
