Come and See: David and the Psalms is a Catholic Bible study that covers the Book of Psalms, Ruth, and 1 and 2 Samuel. As author Fr. Joseph L. Ponessa explains, “Praying the Psalms is Davidic, Christ-like, and godly.” This study provides rich context and background to important books of the Old Testament, relating them to the New Testament and the life of the Church today. You will need a Catholic Bible; the RSVCE (Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition) is recommended and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Both are available online.
Please Register HERE by November 30 to ensure that your books arrive in time for our first class.
CONSOLING THE HEART OF JESUS
A Small Group Retreat with DVD presentations by Fr. Michael Gaitley
Meets Tuesdays, Sep. 10 – Nov. 12, 2019 7:30-9:15 p.m. Room 7/8 Rel. Ed. Bldg.
Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC, has given us a very special gift in his thoughtful and prayerful “Do-It-Yourself Retreat.” He brings together several spiritual traditions and blends them in the pattern of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. We will find inspiration in the quotations from the saints that he gathers carefully and in his deep, but humble, understanding of the principles of holiness that they proclaim. This is a good way for a soul to begin the journey in responding to the call to embrace the Divine Mercy of the Lord. Join us on this retreat and learn to console the heart of Jesus by accepting His love and trusting in Him completely.
