Be still and know that I am GodPsalm 46:11

Have you ever felt lost or alone in the congregation? Your parish is intended to be a supportive community that helps fuel spiritual growth. During the Christ Renews His Parish process, deep and lasting relationships are formed providing an uplifting Christian community and loving family — a brotherhood and sisterhood in Christ. After the renewal weekend every church event will feel like coming home.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of themMatthew 18:20

At the heart of every renewal weekend is God’s faithful and unending love. Regardless of whether you are deeply rooted in your faith or merely beginning your walk with the Lord, Christ Renews His Parish is a journey of spiritual growth.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to youJames 4:8

What is CRHP? Christ Renews His Parish (“chirp”) is a program designed to bring parish members together in Christ while emphasizing continued growth in Christian life.

What happens during the weekend? The weekend will include some group activities and interactions, some prayer together and reflections shared by members of the presenting team on such subjects as: The Father’s Loving Care, Scripture, Eucharist, Catholic Community and Christian Awareness. You may expect an opportunity, in a relaxed setting, to hear Christ’s call to you and to respond to his call to a deeper and closer relationship with Him.

Who may attend? The weekend is open to any adult parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church.

When and where do the weekends take place? Separate weekends for men and women are scheduled. The weekends are held here at Holy Cross.

Who conducts the weekend? A team from previous CRHP weekends will be the Giving Team for the weekend.

How long will it last? The CRHP weekend begins Saturday at 8 a.m. and ends no later than 4 p.m. on Sunday.

What about Reconciliation? There will be a Reconciliation service as part of the weekend. The service will conclude with an opportunity to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation for those who desire it.

When do I attend weekend Mass? A special Mass is scheduled for those attending the weekend.

Where do I sleep? During the weekend, air mattress accommodations will be provided in the Education Building. You will only need sheets, a pillow and earplugs. If you have special sleeping needs, please contact the Weekend Coordinators prior to your scheduled weekend. Please bring your own towel, soap and other toiletries.

What about my meals? The parish will provide meals. In addition to meals, there will be coffee, cold drinks, and snacks available throughout the weekend. Special dietary needs can be accommodated.

What should I wear? The weekends are casual so bring your most comfortable clothing.

Can I afford this weekend? A $25 registration fee is requested. However, the spirit of the Christ Renews His Parish weekend is to make the experience available to anyone.  Please do not let the cost of the weekend be a barrier to your attendance. Special arrangements can be made.

If I have health problems, may I still attend? Certainly! Please contact the Weekend Coordinators to make arrangements for special needs.

Will I have to get up and talk in front of people? No one is required to get up and speak. You may have the opportunity to share your experiences, but you are not required to.
