O God, we thank you for implanting the gift of faith in human hearts. We thank you for sending Jesus, your Son, as the fullness of your love. May his life and mission lead us to share in your divine life.
Today, we ask you to bless in a special way all inquirers who are being called by Jesus: “Come follow me.” Help them to persevere in their journey of faith despite any difficulties. Bless all those who minister to them through the OCIA program, under the guidance of your Holy Spirit, that they may lead others to a life of faith in Jesus Christ. Call us to a renewal of our faith, and inspire us all to be your light in the world. Amen
Classes in English are held on Sundays from 10:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
OCIA is an invitation to conversion through which a person can come to grow in their faith in relationship with Jesus, to accept the Gospel and what the Church believes and teaches. This process of catechesis has four major periods and special rites that mark the passage into the next stage which prepares the adult participants for the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation during the Easter Vigil.
OCIA is for those who are unbaptized, as well as those who are baptized Christians from other Christian backgrounds. Baptized Catholics who have not yet received First Eucharist and Confirmation also are invited to OCIA.
Joining the class does not commit someone to join the Church. OCIA is an open and welcoming environment that provides opportunities for Inquirers to ask those perplexing and difficult questions that they may have about the Church. It will help Inquirers better understand the faith of their spouse or other family members (and dispel some misconceptions about the Church) –even if they decide not to join the Church.
